The project is a brand new facility constructed on a greenfield site in an industrial park. The building is constructed of precast concrete exterior wall panels with steel columns and trusses supporting the roof structure. The facility is approximately 85,000 square feet in size, which is broken into 15,000 square feet of office and 70,000 square feet of production space.
One of the challenges of this project was the unusual interior temperature of the production space. The client makes meat products and operates some of the facility just above freezing to minimize bacteria growth and maintain the freshness of the product. The rest of the space is a freezer for storage before and after the product is made.
The interior of the building was designed to the highest level of food and employee safety.
