The Illinois Eye Institute’s fully remodeled third floor stands as a testament to transformative educational spaces.  The Eyepod is a state-of-the-art facility that offers students 38 ophthalmic teaching lanes with specialized lighting in two eye labs. Individual assessment rooms for clinical testing, 5 teaching laboratories with separate preparation space, 6 research laboratories and study and lounge areas with views of downtown Chicago.  The dynamic learning environment in this 26,000 SF space inspires engagement and fosters academic excellence.  The Eyepod was completed on a fast-track schedule in just 12 weeks and the project cost was $4.5 million.
