Don has over 30 years' experience in the field of structural engineering. He has experience in the fields of original structural design, investigation and repair of existing buildings, forensic engineering, and the rehabilitation and modification of existing structures. He is practiced in all major building materials and systems: structural steel, cold rolled steel, reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, masonry, stone and timber. Mr. Kimball holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. He has been a Structures Specialist with the Illinois Task Force 1, Urban Search and Rescue Team since 2003. He served as President of the Village of Clarendon Hills from 1995 to 1999. He is a former instructor of the Construction Specifications Course of the Construction Specifications Institute, Northern Illinois Chapter. Andy has over 35 years experience in the preparation of numerous designs for the construction of new, and the rehabilitation of existing, facilities. This experience includes both architectural and structural designs for new and existing construction. Designs have incorporated the use of traditional, as well as some of the more progressive, techniques and materials. Mr. Krauklis holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Master of Science in Architectural Engineering from the University of Illinois, Urbana/Champaign. He is a member of the American Concrete Institute Committee 437 – Strength Evaluation of Existing Structures and the Structural Engineers Risk Management Council (SERMC). He is a member of the American Institute of Architects.
Mr. Nelson has over two decades of professional practice experience in the field of architectural design and planning. As an Architectural Principal and group leader, he has managed numerous architectural projects on commissions both large and small. Mr. Nelson has gained experience spanning every dimension of the profession by working on a diverse set of building types throughout his career including healthcare, education, commercial and industrial projects. As the Architectural Principal of the firm, he is responsible for all architectural design components of the projects that are completed by K2N Crest. Mr. Nelson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He is an active member of the American Institute of Architects and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.
Marco has over 22 years experience in the architecture and construction industry. He has been involved in projects ranging from multi-family home communities to commercial high-rise buildings, among others. His project experience includes on-site field condition surveys and documentation for litigation, investigation and repair design, preventative maintenance, and catastrophic failures. Mr. Rodriguez holds an Associate of Applied Science in Architectural Technology and a B.S. in Advanced Technical Studies (Architecture) from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He is a member of the Chicago Chapter Construction Specifications Institute, a Construction Documents Technologist, Construction Specifications Institute, an Associate Member of the AIA and a member of the Northeast Illinois Chapter, American Institute of Architects.
Jared has over 16 years experience in the engineering and construction industry. His experience includes forensic, water infiltration, façade and structural investigations; repair, building envelope and structural design; construction document preparation; contract administration; and field observation. Mr. D’Amico holds a Bachelor of Science, Architectural Engineering, from the Milwaukee School of Engineering. He is a Certified Construction Specifier, Construction Specifications Institute and an Illinois licensed Professional Engineer.
Sarah started her career with K2N in 2004. She specializes in new construction and interior buildouts, but she also has technical expertise with projects ranging from concrete and masonry repairs to high-rise facades, water infiltration investigations, wood and steel member modification and repairs, shoreline seawall repairs, building settlement investigations, and roof collapses, among other structural and architectural needs. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Indiana State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois, Urbana/Champaign. She is a member of the Construction Specifications Institute and volunteers as a subject matter expert for reviewing and writing certification exam questions. She also serves as the Recording Secretary on the Board of Directors at West Suburban Humane Society.
